About Cut the Dead
I’m Sam — a vivid colour and curl artist with 8 years of industry experience. Over the last two years, I’ve focused deeply on curly, wavy, and textured hair after realizing how profoundly underserved this community is. I’ve completed multiple curl-specific cutting and care courses and continue to grow with intention and purpose.
But Cut the Dead is more than just a space — it’s a mission. A safe, inclusive space where every texture is welcomed, respected, and celebrated.
As I’ve realigned with my values, I’ve stepped away from services that no longer resonate with my spirit. That means I’m no longer accepting new colour clients. Instead, I’ve turned inward — to the roots: scalp health, foundational care, and transformational cuts are now at the heart of my craft.
Rooted in ritual, healing, and harmony, my work goes beyond hair. As the only holistic and curly hairstylist in Niagara, Ontario, I offer a deeply connective experience that invites you to feel at home in your most natural self.
My Philosophy
Gender-Neutral Pricing: Hair has no gender. Pricing is based on time, not identity.
Gratuity-Free: I don’t accept tips. I charge my worth; tax is added as required.
Time-Based Rates: All services are $100 per hour.
One-on-One Service: No double-booking. You have my full attention.
Accountability: If I make a mistake, I fix it — no questions, no fees.
Transparency: I won’t pretend to know what I don’t. Honesty is non-negotiable.
My Curl Journey
Since 2018, I’ve been advocating for better curl education locally. When I couldn’t find the resources, I carved my own path. In 2023, I began mentorship under Niagara’s only curl specialist, diving deep into advanced training in curly/wavy cutting and colour.
Though I’ve stepped away from colouring services, I carry everything I’ve learned into each curl-focused cut and care session. I’m here for the curly community — to make you feel seen, heard, and styled with care and intention.

All services are billed at $100/hour, based on the actual time it takes. This ensures fairness, inclusivity, and transparency.

$100.00 1hr 15 min service
This block of time is for a full haircut. I will start the service off with a dry cut.
I will do a clarifying shampoo topped off with an aromatherapy deep conditioning treatment.
Your curls will be defused using a hood dryer and or a defuser on a hair dryer.

Haircut | Blowout
(1-hour service)
This service includes a precision haircut tailored to your style, along with a wash and an aromatherapy deep conditioning treatment to nourish your hair. Afterward, enjoy a blow-dry and style to complete your look.
Please note: I do not offer cuts shorter than chin length or children’s cuts.
You may also choose to use this time for a wash and style without a haircut.
